    This Camcorder was unable to work with my computer

    I purchased this camcorder specifically to be used to transfer my analog Hi-8 video tapes to digital files on my computer. It was advertised that it could do this function, but it could not because it is outdated technology and my windows 7 computer would not recognize this hardware device. Plus the software disc was missing for this function, but even if I had it also was outdated technology and would not work. I purchased a separate I-Link cable and download other software in the hopes of making this video transfer to work with my computer without success. So, I had to return this camcorder back to the seller since I could not use it as intended.

    240 DCR SONY

    Old is new great Camera for my needs . Sold for six or seven hundred 2004 or 5. Lot of special effects and a manual focus. 8mm Tapes easy to find cards can be misplaced. I still shoot Super8 great camera for off the wall transfer and you can create great SPX. Overlaps, Wipes color changes and many more. Have two now new but not abused off of ebay.. Tuxman

    Great Camcorder

    Purchased this camcorder to convert my home videos. I was able to successfully convert over 40 Hi8 tapes without any problems. I am very pleased with my purchase. If you are looking to convert Hi8 videos find out if your old camcorder was an analog or digital model I purchased an analog Hi8 camcorder first and it couldn’t play my tapes because my tapes were recorded using a digital Hi8 camcorder. Apparently it makes a difference The Hi8 digital camcorder purchased here was great.
