    Crucial BX100 500GB SSD drive-replacing 500GB HDD

    I've only had this drive in place for two weeks. Very easy to swap the older sata HDD drive out for this SSD drive. So far it is performing as specified. I purchased this to replace a 500GB HDD drive on a 2006 Mac Pro Desktop. I loaded a pre patched copy of O.S. El Capitan on it as well as my apps. The memory part of the Mac are three other HDDs with a total of 5TB of storage.There is still some hesitation when using apps that have information stored on the other HDDs. It has sped the O.S. up and I can move seamlessly between windows with out the spinning beach ball. It will take a bit of time for the new drive to understand more intuitively my activity. The full write speed of the SSD drive cannot be utilized because the bus transfer speeds when reading and writing data on this 2006 Mac ...

    super easy to swap out 250 GB drive

    This drive actually came with an Acronis disc close trial that allowed for very quick, easy migration from my old HD to this new one. Within 2 hours I had swapped out the drives and was upgraded to 500 GB
