Reviews
Praise for Swing, Swing Together *Winner of the Grand Prix de Littrature Policire* "Thames-side summer scenes plus real who-and-why puzzle add up to period piece of engaging charm." -- The Sunday Telegraph "A relaxed and easy-going book, complete with traditional mystery traditionally solved. Enlivening the proceedings is a pert and attractive young lady who knows exactly what she wants." -- The New York Times "Lovely flavour of the time . . . 'Naked? Completely, darling. In the buff. It's awfully good fun.' And so it all is." -- The Scotsman "The most light-hearted, but by no means the least compelling, of Lovesey's books." -- The Times, Crime Writers' Association Diamond Dagger for Lifetime Achievement Recipient Mystery Writers of America 2018 Grandmaster Praise for Swing, Swing Together Winner of the Grand Prix de Littérature Policière "Thames-side summer scenes plus real who-and-why puzzle add up to period piece of engaging charm." -- The Sunday Telegraph "A relaxed and easy-going book, complete with traditional mystery traditionally solved. A creative, courageous and gifted writer." --Louise Penny "Lovesey is a master of the crime novel." --Sara Paretsky "What'll it be today? A knotty puzzle mystery? A fast-paced police procedural? Something more high-toned, with a bit of wit? With the British author Peter Lovesey, there's no need to make those agonizing decisions, because his books have it all." --The New York Times Book Review "Mr. Lovesey's narrative is swift, but he takes time out for local color and abundant humor, the latter springing from the book's quirky characters . . . Lovesey is a wizard at mixing character-driven comedy with realistic-to-grim suspense. And in a writing career spanning four decades, he has created a stylish and varied body of work." -- The Wall Street Journal "A treat . . . Lovesey's restraint, wit, and charming cast ensure him a place in the winner's circle." --Entertainment Weekly "Extremely stylish, lighter than air . . . utterly surprising." --Newsweek, Praise for Swing, Swing Together *Winner of the Grand Prix de Littérature Policière* "Thames-side summer scenes plus real who-and-why puzzle add up to period piece of engaging charm." -- The Sunday Telegraph "A relaxed and easy-going book, complete with traditional mystery traditionally solved. Synopsis
"Here's charm and delight. A puzzle postlude to Three Men in a Boat ." -- The Times London, 1889: After Jerome K Jerome's Three Men in a Boat became a Victorian bestseller, rowing on the Thames was the great craze of 1889. When an elementary school teacher in training takes a midnight swim in the Thames and witnesses a body being dumped, Sergeant Cribb and Constable Thackerey are called to investigate. They uncover strange parallels with the enormously popular Victorian novel, but nobody will take them seriously. Following their instincts, they stick doggedly to the trail, which leads upstream to Oxford.

- 3***6 (109)- Feedback left by buyer.Past 6 monthsVerified purchaseI appreciate the speed with which Whattaplace shipped my order to me. Regretfully the item was lost somewhere in the shipment process. I also liked the asking price as well. I dialogued with the vendor, about the item not showing up when expected. They got right back to me, and said they'd refund the purchase price (which they did). I was to watch for the item if it got delivered. I'd notify Whattaplace of that. I'd recommend this vendor & would buy from them again.
