The build quality is acceptable. The focus ring is sloppy and I am surprised that this manual focus lens isn't even 'chipped'. Both symptomatic of a cheap lens. I am still playing with the lens and have captured some good and interesting frames and a few stinkers. With patience I'm confident it will be a useful addition to my flower photography.

All Lensbaby lenses have a learning curve, but if you take the time they are worth it. You can get some very sharp pictures, and the effects they produce are exceptional. The velvet 56 and 85 are two of my go to lenses, and are always in my camera bag.

This lens is good quality. It does not interface to the camera circuitry so you have to use manual mode and manual focus. Personally I did not find it a particularly useful lens.

Takes me back to the days when nothing was automatic. It takes some practice to learn or relearn manual lenses, but it’s gratifying and fun. The results can be amazing. I am really happy with my purchase.
