Better than I expected...:-}
I really didn't expect too much of this little tool , given the price, but am very glad I bought it. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because being milled but not polished meant that I needed to spend some time with medium abrasive wheels taking down the extremely sharp edges on it & then polishing it out. Also, it came with a wooden set ring rather than a nylon one, which would have kept it both more durable & quieter. All in all though, after a bit of work on it, it is now a Cadillac of a usable tool. I make many tools for myself & it would have taken me a very long time to have made this from scratch, so I was pleased with what I received.I really didn't expect too much of this little tool , given the price, but am very glad I bought it. Rathburn Ring Stretcher
The ring stretcher is easy to use, compact, and works great. Good item for the price. I use it for helping size coin rings I make. It was supposed to have a nylon base but mine had a wooden base. Would of preferred nylon as it would last longer. When I use it I remove the base and set it on a hard surface.

Good ring stretcher for larger size rings
Work with rings that are at least size 6, if you compress the splines using simething like a hose clamp. It's coated with very cheap chrome plating that will start to flake off during your first use. This flaking doesn't affect the functionality of the ring stretcher. Works well as an economical alternative to the expensive ring stretcher and reducer machines.

Great for the price
Works as advertised. Got it for making coin rings. A bit of advise would be to wrap it with Teflon tape or you will scratch the hell out of your rings since it has sharp edges where it expands.

Good product for the money
Worked well for stretching wedding bands. Stretched mine about half a size. Would be nice if it came with instructions for softening the metal for making larger size changes. Metal product is made of is a little soft, but had no problems.
