This has been incredible! One of the best purchases I've ever made. My car has a battery drain related to the stereo that if left long enough causes starting problems. With this fitted, every time I park up for extended periods I pop the bonnet, rotate the dial 8 turns and forget about it. Battery remains full and starts no problem. And to think I almost replaced the battery for a foolhardy moment.. #doh!

    Battery disconnector, heavy duty?

    This disconnector is well made in terms of its physical appearance and how it fits and works. The only downside I found is that because it is brass it was very easy to cross-thread. The fix was to thread from the opposing side and re-create the thread again. It would have been better if it was made from a harder alloy. However saying that it does its job well, and should last if threaded more carefully than I did.

    Not universal fitting.

    The item is solid and well made, but there was no straightforward way of fitting it to my Mazda 2 standard battery set-up. Perhaps it should be made clearer that this product does not simply bolt on to any car. The cost did not make it worth returning and one day I may own a vehicle which it will fit.

    You get what you pay for!

    It may be the unit that I purchased but I can never be sure that the battery has in fact disconnected, the insulation between the two parts of the unit allows the screw to touch and reconnect the unit. I have to use a multimeter to ensure the battery is disconnected. I have purchased many of these units over the years for classic cars, boats etc. and have never had this problem however I think I have purchased a higher quality item.
