Had heard about Inktense pencils & their versatility quite a while ago. I bought them to specifically use on fabric but have used them on high quality canvas paper as well. Colours are very intense & a little goes a long way. Some of the colours in the 12 box I bought are a little bit too bright vivid & "candy" coloured. I would like to buy extra pencils which have more muted colour for more realistic drawing. They work very much like watercolours so you can have the happy accidents which this media provides. I would always work from light to dark for this reason. I don't think that they are quite as permanent as they promise, Colour has shifted a little when dry & added to but this may have been the paper I was using which was quite porous. They worked well on fabric but I used an iron to set once dry. All in all delighted with them. Lovely to have new media which is so easy to work with. I would try them out on a grid of some description first to get an idea of colour intensity, mixing & layering before you commit to a "proper " drawing. Pencils are ideal for sketchbook work "on the go". All you need is water & a brush. Bingo.Read full review

Wonderful pencils to use, love the colours. Had a try at blending colours when first one has dried got some beautiful combinations. Would highly recommend and will buy more colours in the future. I found not using too much water is the way to go and have something like a paper towel to use to dab off access water. Very happy with my purchase.

Excellent product........especially for textile work and before embroidered needle painting. Easy to blend.

Much brighter and stronger than my ordinary watercolour crayons. Some colours are stronger than others, and you do need to build up layers for a really deep tone. You can get deeper tones by using your paintbrush directly onto the pencil rather than wetting the coloured work.

Inktense watercolour pencils have a high pigment content and after they've dried you can add other layers. This tin comes with the basics but not enough blues or an edger so I marked it down but they're easy to collect and you will. They're a game changer!
