If you've read some other reviews on this CD, you'll already have known about the criticisms surrounding the sound quality but despite this, simultaneously noticed the praise for Nancy Wilson's artistry and vocals in solo . And I bring you back to that latter notion when it comes to this CD. It's a jewel in that it captures a career moment in time - after Heart's mega-stadium touring and chart topping songs success in the seventies and eighties - when the success had quieted and diffused away due to new fashions - when Nancy was creatively working on musical scores for Cameron Crowe's successful & acclaimed movies like "Jerry Maguire" and at the moment of the CD, the eventual Oscar winning "Almost Famous". It was back to her Love of the music and its wonder and creative energy that feeds one (as heard in the giggles after the instrumental "Leghead's Lament") . It was a moment without Roger Fischer and Howard Leese or Mark Andes and and Howard layering her guitar work in the band or sister Ann's 3+ octave range vocals partnering hers. It's an opportunity for you to HEAR Nancy Wilson acoustically cover traditional Heart classics like "Even It Up" , "These Dreams", "Angels" or Joni Mitchell's "A Case of You" (for me, as a Canadian it was like hearing Joni channeled) or Peter Gabriel's "In Your Eyes" (it was like a moment of Grace) . Other reviews , like Acoustic Guitar Magazine's , brings us back to her artistry : http://www.acguitar.com/issues/ag81/CoverStory.shtml As Nancy said in the CD after a song , "all we need now is a campfire" (and perhaps some marshmallows). Live at McCabe's Guitar Shop is perhaps transformation caught on CD - in between the Nancy Wilson of Heart whom we knew in the seventies and eighties to the current rebirth of the new Nancy Wilson and Heart - the American Idol Barracuda/Alone , Jupiter's Darling, Red Velvet Car version of Heart (where Nancy's artistry is more emphasized compared to before - more of her channeling Jimmy Page and Peter Townsend on stage live , as a real role model for young women wanting to pursue a sustainable career in rock n roll ). If you're a fan of acoustic guitar covers of good songs and not just a Heart fan, I recommend getting this CD. It's great to chill down with, after a long hard day at work with at home or in the car - more relaxing than any current lounge chill down electronic compilation album. Get past the red herring of sound quality on this CD and listen to the music. Because (as Ann Wilson once said) : after all, it is about the f-'in music, isn't it ? Cheers TDRead full review
If you bought this cd - you are one 2 kinds of persons 1. an avid Heart fan like me . Something else to add to your collection ( along with Ann's Hope and Glory cd - her solo effort ) Both cd's are these ladies doing what they do best . 2. an avid guitarist ( me again ) who simply enjoys seeing other sides of our favorite musicians . Ok so here's my take on this cd - LOVED IT !! It opens with an acoustic version of Even It Up , I have never heard before but is most cool . also on the cd you will find Nancy's version of 2 paul Simon songs as well as one from Joni Mitchell . Along with the pleasant chatter and the tease of playing an acoustic version of Barracuda - she opts to share one of her new songs instead . Which is just as awesome . Whatever the reason - buy it !! Well worth the $$$ ENJOY :)Read full review
I have to say I really enjoyed this CD. Just a lady and her acoustic guitar, no place to hide behind. She put out a good product. I especially liked her originals Everything, Sister, Ground Zero, and The Rain Song. Every song on this CD is well done. If you like a singer and acoustic sound, this is the CD for you.

I purchased this cd a while back and cannot stop listening. Nancy Wilson is one of the greatest raw guitar heros ever. She has a unique style that can be heard on this cd. Plus the quality of sound is great. This is a very down to earth and "up close n' personal" segment of heart. I like the fact that it confirms just how talented the ladies of Heart really are, whether they are perfoming together or solo.
WAS in great condition.Good cd with several beautiful acoustic live songs.
