I bought this DVD recorder so I could transfer my mini-8 vhs tapes on blank DVD disks! It won't do this it will play DVD movies or all prerecorded disks. I am really disappointed with this purchase. Thanks for asking!

It does a great job recording. The copy is much better than the other DVD recorders that I have. (Samsung 120, and LG RC 199H.The colors are even stronger. It also has two extra recording speeds that many other brands do not have. It has a 2 1/2 hours speed with DVD quality and a 3 hour speed with Super VHS quality. My only complaint is that it has a lot of "bells and whistles" and is therefore, much more complicated to work than the other brands that I have. You may need a manual!!!
I already had one, wanted another. The menu, etc., are intuitively easy to use; I love +R DVD's because I can add track markers where I want to, and not just at 5 or 10-minute intervals. Also, it is possible to record slightly longer than the specified time limits at each speed. The picture quality at 4 hour speed is noticeably better than with my Panasonic E55 -R machine. If you get one cheaply, this machine is a steal!
This DVDs recorder has the best picture of any that I've seen. It also has component inputs. It is the third one I have owned.

Knew when I bought it that remote was not for device, so once I got a specific remote it worked great to copy DV tapes to DVD+R or DVD+RW
