Good for what it is.
Represents a good trade-off between size and function. It's small if you are weight conscious but still sharpens. A bit finicky for large blade work, but if you want something to put an edge on small items (eg. hooks) and don't wish to lug around a large weight then this is ideal. If you looking at doing multiple blades or larger taskings then a proper whetstone probably makes more sense, but this is great for minimalist/survivalist type uses. Perfect Size; Perfect Price
I'm a plastic kit modeller and I've found a small sharpening stone like this one, that you can use dry or wet, is just perfect for bringing back No. 11 scalpel blades back to a super sharp state. Perfect for cutting PE and scraping smooth sprue 'bumps' from model parts. I spend around $40 for a box of surgeon's scalpel blades and having the ability to touch up the ends of the blades makes them last longer.
