This delay is definitely my favorite on the market. It gives you the long delay times of a digital delay, with the warm organic sound of an analog delay. The tap tempo, and the multi-tap switches on the front make this one of the easiest to use, and the modulation delay section sounds fantastic, if you use restraint with your settings. About the only downside to this pedal is the white noise it creates. This definitely limits where you can set the blend control. I know that all analog delays and reverbs have a considerable amount of hiss, and this pedal is definitely no exception, but you can get it to acceptable levels with careful tweaking of the knobs, and the EQ on your amp. A skillfully adjusted, high quality noise gate pedal after the delay may be the ultimate answer. I will try that soon, and see if I can set that to eliminate the noise, but still leave nearly all of the echoes at the trailing end.Read full review

This is without a doubt the most impressive and versatile delay pedal I've ever played. The two things that set this pedal apart from other delays are the modulation and the subdivision switches. The good: The Modulation switch controls a rich tremolo and chorus, (with a super interesting LFO) that can be added to the regular delay. I will say that the chorus does sound more like a flanger than anything, but I really enjoy some of the weird sounds you can get out of this thing. My favorite part of this pedal are the six switches that add subdivisions of the delayed note. When engaged, you can really get some interesting rhythmic variations. Not your average delay pedal. The reverse function is pretty decent, and the looper is alright. Not the reasons I bought the pedal anyway, so I don't really use them. The bad: Almost nothing, honestly. The only thing I can think of is the delay by itself is a bit quiet, which is easily remedied by the onboard 'drive' control, which boosts your delay signal up to match your volume with the pedal is off. Oh, and the price. It's steep, but I would say for me and my style of playing/the amount of time I use delay, it's totally worth it. Other things: I'm excited to try out an expression pedal with it. (I recommend the Pigtronix expression pedal, because it can control two pedals at the same time.)Read full review
After having used effect pedals in the 70's, to rack mounts in the 80's-90's, and Amp/effect Modelers in the 00's I was looking for a boutique pedal that would wow me as much as my first EH 16sec delay did 30's years ago but sound nearly as good and as flexible as the TC2290. This pedal fit's the bill and at an affordable price. Likes - The trail feature, multi-taps, reverse delay, GoldenRatio, remote and expression inputs help bring out the most of the pedal. Switching between the Tap and Mod delay modes is a great feature; like having two delay setups. Drawbacks: No true bypass - it would have been nice if this was an option when the "trail" mode is disabled. Tap Tempo can sometimes be problematic on long taps. But these are not complaints only minor criticisms. Delay Ducking would be a nice add on. If you liked the EH 16SecDelay and the TC2290, this pedal is the best of both worlds and then some.Read full review
I own two other pigtronix products currently so I knew what I was going after in terms of quality of build, tone and overall features of the unit. I chose the echolution because I wanted the ability to subdivide, chop, dice, slice and mince my delay. THE bonus here is also the modulation side which in effect gives two completely different delays and the the built in looper, tremelo, chorus AND tap tempo....I couldn't pass this up. I was patient trying out as many delays as I could and this one won hands down....When you hear the term..."this is the last delay you will ever buy" I believe it. With the echolution, the tremvelope and envelope phaser there is virtually no sound I cannot create now that i have been hearing in my head....Check this thing out. I promise YOU will not be let down. There are SO many options and functions....this HAS become my last delay pedal.....ThanksRead full review
This is really great delay , sonically and in features ,the tape delays and analogue sims are really all I could want for , however you will need to run the software to fine tune it , where is really comes in to its own is when you run it in stereo , it has an unbelievable wide soundstage, not just the ping pong stuff , not sure what kind of stereo trickery their using to create this but it is well worth the effort to try stereo with this bad boy . I like to work with just a few pre-sets , so once its set , I can do what I need to on the pedal , but you would need a lot more informative display do really get at it without the software . I'm giving it a 5 because of the sound quality ..
