  • Bob Dylan's Blonde on Blonde

BoB marked a turning point for Bob and is laden with meaning for men of a certain age. Perhaps women, too. It is also eminently listenable and a lot of fun with enduring lyrics of surprising vulnerability and frustrating impenetrability, many of which can be introduced into current events. I can think of no finer album from the second half of the 20th Century. I remain unquenchably curious about the responses of contemporary listeners to the 14 remarkable songs and especially to "Sad Eyed Lady of the Lowlands." A professional yet personal vendor made a sealed, pristine CD of the old pressing available to me at a comparatively modest price; it sounds very close to a well-preserved, four-decade-old LP. I have not yet found time to explore the subtle differences of other editions, such ...

  • Music Sophisticates on Blonde on Blonde.

Blonde on Blonde is widely considered a masterpiece. In 1966 this album took blues and folk to a whole other level. This is the culmination of Dylan's rock album trilogy of the mid 60's with predecessors being Bringing it All Back Home and Highway 61 Revisited. Dylan was at the forefront of the music world at this point in time and this album along with the Beatles' Revolver and the Kinks' Face to Face stretched the boundaries of rock in the transitional year of 1966 between folk and beat rock and psychedelia. This album contains some of Dylan's best and most mysterious lyrics. This album includes the classics "Rainy Day Women #12 & 35," "Visions of Johanna," "I Want You," "Stuck Inside of Mobile With the Memphis Blues Again," "Just Like a Woman," and "Most Likely You Go Your Way (And ...

  • Blonde on Blonde

This presented an excellent opportunity to revisit a favorite album from the 60,s. I was a young guitar player when Dylan released this work and I can still remember srtuggeling with the chords and progressions. The lyrical content was overwhelming then and continues to provide inlays of images and concepts and feelings that both bring me back to that time and project me into the future. Dylan taught me to not be afraid to write a song that was over three minutes long. To the younger listener, I would recommend a listen as in 2006, it is difficult to locate a writer capable of providing this level of poetry-it remains an insperation. M.F. Foster

  • Mr. Dylan at his best!

This CD replaces an old vinyl record that had seen better days. Outstanding piece of Dylan's incredible journey remastered. Beautiful results and certainly a piece of Dylan's incredible legacy.
