    A must have for any 4x5 camera user!

    I use this product for my Intrepid 4x5 camera. It seems this is generic size and it works great, made a huge difference in brightness. The quality is as expected great. A highly recommended must have for any 4x5 camera user!

    Significantly thinner than Ektalite

    I have generally liked etone goods, and thought I'd give the fresnel a try. The refraction lines are very fine, and it has a smooth circle in the very center for critical focus. Dimensions side to side and top to bottom seem to be spot on, and it drops into a Graflex focusing panel as it should. However, it's about 1mm thinner than the Ektalite screen it replaces, throwing the ground glass out of register. I wound up shimming mine with some carefully cut and measured paper. I still need to do some testing to confirm that my shims are getting critical focus. Were it not for this flaw, this would be a superb value. As it is, that's a lot of work to make a forty-dollar drop-in part function properly. I'd rather pay more for a fresnel that's in spec or cobble together something on the cheap ...

    No visible Fresnel lines when using 4x loupe

    Out of the box it seems like its has scratches, HOWEVER, once you mount it on your camera I didn't see any fresnel lines! AMAZING! Its bright, well worth the price. Also, if you want to fit it into a linhof holder where the fresnel slot is slightly edged in (in order to not change the distance of the ground glass to the lens), you need to sand it down a bit on the sides.

    Great upgrade for an Intrepid 4x5 or similar.

    The difference was night and day. I placed it on the outside (viewing side) with the grooves facing inward (smooth outside). The fresnel makes it not only brighter but provides you with a much greater viewing area to ensure your compositions are placed well in the frame. Fresnel grooves are visible around the outer areas but don't seem to be visible under a loupe. Excited to get out in the field.
