The controller itself was defective. I reached out to the seller for an exchange or refund, they refunded me within 3 days. I believe it was just the controller error, nothing on the seller. Their customer service and responsiveness were A1. The quality of the controller was good and it seemed sturdy, but the X button is where the defect was.
