As previously mentioned, Rega built this deck and put a NAD badge on it. It's not exactly the same as any Rega deck containing elements from several. The plinth is like the Planer 3 one, the RB250 arm comes from the Planer2 and the platter is broadly similar to the one you get on the later R1. As with most old cartridges, the supplied Goldring should be considered scrap or a new stylus fitted. None of this should worry you as it's still a well balanced and excelant sounding budget turntable and great value as they typically sell for less than their Rega-badged brothers. Ridiculously robust and reliable too and should you need parts they are plentiful and cheap. Great buy.

Such good value for money. Punches way above its weight and comes with a Goldring Elektra cartridge, which is a real bonus. Highly recommended

I was liking the simplicity, money has been saved on things like auto recall and speed changing. This has been replaced by investment in the build quality especially the tonearm. Definitely value for money. I decided to buy this turntable knowing it's a repackaged Rega with a NAD badge. I read the reviews and I wasn't disappointed when I began my quest of playing all my old vinyl records.
The Nad533 turntable is a badged Rega planner 2. This is good news as they seem to go for less money than the Rega on the secondhand market. The arm is the exceptional Rega RB250. Widely considered to be one of the finest arms on the market today! The sound you get from this deck is open and detailed without being analytical. It's a fantastic deck for a wide range of music from classical to pop and from rock to jazz. I can wholeheartedly recommend this turntable.
