      A second hand model rail part without a fault

      This is great news, thank you. Most used model rail parts I have purchased so far have had a fault, I was hoping to build a reasonable sized layout of new and used parts! I shall now just buy from a shop to guarantee sound components.

      They're functional and good value for what they are

      The Buffer Stops are functional and good value for what they are I suppose. Its just that there's not many different buffer stops choose from. Some of the older types of buffer stops are interesting to look at and there seems to be more to the buffers than just Hornby's functional and poor design. They will do until I can find older and different ones. Now don't get me wrong, as I said before they are functional and good value for what they are.

      Works well but needs painting

      Easy to fit onto track and if properly fitted will not move if a loco accidentally runs into it. Downside is that black is an unrealistic colour for a buffer stop and it is very fiddly to paint it. My own preference is to paint the main part steel grey, fill in the bit between the buffers and paint the buffers and the part in between red.
