A nylon zipper separation is not normally due to the zipper but rather the pot metal pull. My 25 year old back pack (book bag) zipper started to separate on closing...what a pain. Replaced the Zipper Pulls; works like new. Had to unstitch the zipper Only at the bottom and refeed the new zipper pull them restitch but with the hour to save a $60+ (for new) back pack.
