The previous owner of my caravan, mentioned he had reduced the thread length so when the rafters are stored in a 20mm storage tube, they don't become hooked on the Aussie Traveller ,anti flap rafters. This breaks the star shaped grip, on and from, the thread. He also put a foot shield on the nut to reduce damage to the curved rafters. Image supplied
