    Rust Remover Not as Fast-Acting as Directions Indicate

    I followed all the directions and left the rust remover (step 2) in for the maximum amount of time (2 hours, I think). Unfortunately, when I drained the tank I disposed of the product before looking in the tank.... It had only removed the lightest rust deposits - less than 1/2 of the total rust. I should have kept the product and put it back in the tank. I ended up using toilet bowl cleaner twice over a period of more than a week. The rust came out in thin sheets and flakes. I used another rust remover product for the final cleaning but got out very little more rust. In talking to my independent motorcycle mechanic he said it often takes a day or more for the POR rust remover to work on a badly rusted tank. It was my mistake for discarding it too soon.     Instructions could have been better. They were different the what was listed on the product. Recommend doing this during the week incase need to call the hotline.
