Haven't played board games in decades. Games have evolved so much since the days of classics like Scrabble, Yahtzee, and Monopoly and this game is great! We play this game 2 player using the variant in the rules and it works well for us. We always have fun. The graphics on the board and cards are beautifully done. Although the card version is cheaper, I am very happy I purchased the board game. It appeared much easier to score this version of the game for my math hating opponent and that has been true especially with the little coins which adds to the fun of collecting treasure on your quests. This has become my new favorite game. (Sorry Scrabble - no one wanted to play with me anyway.) Now after years of begging others to play board games with me so I didn't have to play solo against my computer, Family Game Night has been resurrected and reborn.Read full review

Lost Cities is an entertaining game that is fun for the whole family. The learning curve isn't terrible, as we are playing with an 11 and 7 year old. It brings some interesting elements and mechanics together for a good night at the game table. There is a bit more luck to it, and if the cards are dealt in a certain way you can get frustrated pretty easily. Also, it's truly a crap shoot as to who is going to win, since victory points are hidden from view until you score at the end of the third expedition.

This is a great family game! Doesn't need to take long if you play the shorter version. Just so different than most games that it's neat!
