Notes
Vol 2: Hard Knock Life - it's Jay Z's last album. Are you ready to handle it? Jay Z's huge success as a rap star has made way for an early retirement - imagine that! In addition to his previous gold and platinum recordings and guest appearances on over 10 of the industry's platinum releases, Jay Z goes down in history as a major player in building the Rocafella Records empire. His instant hit, "Can I Get A..." is available on both Def Jam's Rush Hour O.S.T. and Hard Knock Life.

  • Jay-z at His Abosolute Best

This cd is one of Jay-z's absolute best since, he started in the hip hop game. That happens to be my opinion, only. People that have followed him through the years would probably agree. This particular CD has several artists that appear, that were unknown at the time (1998). JaRule, The Lox, etc. All in all, this happens to be my very favorite. It is not reccommended for young children or anyone under 18. There is PARENTAL ADVISORY for a reason, if you like going back in time, this is "THE ONE".

  • Good CD

I decided to buy this CD because I had some extra money from selling and am a fan of Jay-Z's music. After I started listening to it, I thought, "Oh great, the only good song on here is going to be hard knock life" because I would say the first few songs on this album are in the average range (with the exception of hard knock life). However, I decided that maybe the album would get better as I listened to more songs, and I was right. The songs get much more creative as far as lyrics and storytelling goes and some of the beats & hooks are great (can I get a ... especially). Overall, this is a very good album for rap/hip-hop fans.

  • Great bargain!

CD plays wells despite the spots on the the disc.
