    Ford Ranger tailgate lower/raise assist

    Item works well with the lowering of the tailgate, I believe there is some assistance in the raising of the tailgate but not a lot. With no instructions upon delivery it is a little annoying having to search via YouTube to find some fitting instructions. It does come with extra parts for which I have no idea what to do with them. For the price though time will tell if they are a worth while investment. For the time being my wife really appreciates them as they make her life a little safer while using the tailgate

    Works well but average quality

    Great idea, works great but found the build quality to be average. It took some bending and drilling to get it to work, especially with the brackets. They were completely differently made on each side. One worked okay but the other needed some work. One strut bent because of the bracket but works now.

    Simple but very effective

    It is very well made,The stress it takes from the tailgate dropping down is a safety factor for anybody that would use the tailgate especially if it slips out of there hand, all that happens now is it slowly lowers to the required position. It is not hard to install.

    Easy down NOT easy up

    Struts do slow down the tailgate when opening but DO NOT assist in easy up to close the tailgate. Should not be sold as easy up as both struts are identical and only slow the tailgate down when opening
