Good for general use
I removed the internal UV/IR cut filter on my Nikon D50 to make it "full spectrum". I did this primarily for astrophotography because it will allow faint nebula to show up better in my pictures. I bought this filter in case I wanted to do some standard photography. It works fine during the daytime, not quite the same as the Nikon internal filter but that was expected as it was made specifically for this camera while the 72mm filter is for a variety of cameras. You can make adjustments in Gimp or other free programs if you want to adjust the color.
