      REDARC BCDC1225D fit for purpose

      The REDARC Battery Charger 12V 25A 3 Stage Auto BCDC1225D is designed to go under the bonnet of the car and sit close to the battery being charged. Made to withstand the heat, water and dust in the Australian bush. I have teamed it up with an ARB battery platform that has a cradle built in for the REDARC. Having used REDAEC products in a previous car, I had no hesitation in doing so again.

      BCDC1225D DC-DC Charger

      This product is of good quality and well manufactured by a good South Australian company. It is compact and easy to mount. Has plenty of length on the wires for connections. The BCDC1225D is great by having a simple connection for solar input. The unit is also very durable.

      Easiest way to set up a dual battery & solar system

      The 1225D is well designed, looks good and is the easiest, in vehicle, smart charger I have come across. I fixed it into the inside of a customised battery box and fixed two anderson plugs to the box, one to accept incoming solar, the other to accept incoming from the alternator. Once connected the charger takes over and manages your battery and various inputs & output effortlessly. If there is no alternator input, the solar takes over, no solar the reverse. If dual feeds are detected, it simply uses both (preferencing the solar to improve fuel economy). In my opinion its the only way to set up a dual battery & solar system.

      Good gear and Aussie made

      As my alternator is only producing 13.6 volts I wanted to make sure my auxiliary battery was fully charged. The redraw bcdc does this which in turn will increase the life of the battery and running time of my accessories. Easy to fit with clear instructions Liked the inclusion of the fuses.

      BCDC work great

      Easy to install (once you find a location in your 4WD). Finally able to charge my AUX battery properly. Tried for years using just an isolator to disconnect/charge and after 5 dead batteries (each lasting about 2 years) finally got a BCDC. Previously the AUX charging voltage was only 13.2V from the alternator, now it is 14.5V in the bulk stage.
