The threads are a little tight to help with stability, but as long as you align everything right they fit well with a little extra push on the first time. I would love to see a future version with a threaded steel insert and would be happy to pay a little extra for something like that! Item arrived earlier than expected, so that was a nice treat.

Threading it onto a mic stand first time is scary, hard to tell if you are cross-threading it - threaded metal insert would be helpful.

This is not the seller's fault - this texture is inherent in the 3D printing process, and the texture is clearly visible in the photos. One note is that batteries were included in the blaster (which was nice!) but one of them was broken and had leaked all over the battery compartment. Not sure when this happened, possibly in shipping. It required some minor cleanup but otherwise not a big issue.
