    Interesting history, but a bit of a challenge to read.

    This book includes a lot of very interesting history, but I would have enjoyed it more if it would have proceeded along a more linear arc from oldest part of the story to the end. The story moves forward and back from chapter to chapter as it tracks the experiences of several different players more or less one at a time. I find that type of format challenging to read; requires more effort on the part of the reader. Just sayin'..........to each his own.

    Captivating story well told.

    Monuments Men is a captivating story told well by the author. I heard about the Monuments Men years ago and then could not remember their name. I was thrilled to find the book and eager to read the story. The book fulfilled my expectations!
