About this product

Product Information

Otogi: Myth of Demons is an action game where players are challenged to defeat massive armies of hideous creatures using a deadly combination of melee weapons and magical attacks. What sets this game apart is its setting and theme. Otogi takes place in ancient Japan during a mystic time when demonic armies have besieged the country. Cast in the role of Raikoh, an undead warrior inspired by legend and folklore, players must attack these demon hordes until they are no longer free to wander the earth.

The action is played from a third-person perspective set behind the lead character. Over 30 weapons are available to use in real-time combat, from traditional swords and axes to special items of mysterious origin, all of which can be upgraded over time. Raikoh can also tap into 12 schools of magic to help confront the monsters and massive boss creatures populating the land. More than 25 stages are featured in Otogi, including outdoor environments, underground caverns, and indoor locales. The 3D engine offers fully destructible objects such as trees, furniture, walls, and even entire structures.

  • by Sega, and thats a good thing.

this game was made by the same exact people who made Shinobi and Nightshade for the ps2. and it plays almost exactly the same as shinobi, minus 3 differences. 1-otogi doesn't have wall running 2-no kunai throwing 3-no Tate other than that, everything is pretty much the same. in both shinobi and otogi the character you control can , acrobatically high jump, double jump, stealth dash, hack n slash, go from one enemy to the next via stealth dash, lock on, use magic. it has better graphics than shinobi. the only game out there that sorta plays like shinobi. if you like otogi, you'll like shinobi. if you like shinobi, you'll like otogi. did i mention this game is hard. like shinobi.

  • Beautiful and challenging

A beautiful delving into the mythos of ancient Japan. The cut-scenes are well done with the hypnotic voice of a mysterious Princess giving advice and background information on the stage you are about to enter. There are many different weapons to find or purchase. You can replay completed levels in an attempt to gain a higher rating. I would have liked a 'block' button, and although you can fling back enemy projectiles by a careful press of an attack button this is none too easy. When you get the craving for some Japanese-videogame arcade flash and style this is a good bet to fill the need. The Xbox is woefully short of these sorts of games.

  • Works perfectly!

It works perfectly, I haven’t fully played the game yet but I will not complain as the product works as intended

  • Great hack & slash game!

Unique storyline, great graphics and tight controls. A must buy for Onimusha game fans. A great game if you can get it used for under $20. It would be great if they make this compatible with the xbox 360!
