Animal Farm
I bought this for my daughter [13] as a supplement to her required reading of the book. I found it to be very well done [along the lines of "Babe"] and very true to the book. The added bonus of the movie was the insertion of patriotic songs and sloganeering of the Soviet Union promoting the glories of Socialism. The unique value of this movie is that when kids [and adults] see it, they can tie to sloganeering politicians here in the US who would have them believe that "all are created equal; but some are more equal than others." -- a perfect reference to our Congress. Excellent and memorable political science lesson at the most basic level. I highly recommend for individual viewing at all levels, as well as for use in schools.I bought this for my daughter [13] as a supplement to her required reading of the book. Thematic production of Orwell's classic. It is pretty well true to the book.

Yay! Animal Farm!
I really wanted this movie because no one really knew it came out. I wanted to show all my friends why I really loved the live action, and why I'm deathly afraid of Pigs. The movie showed up just in time for the weekend when we were going to hang out and watch it. The case is cheapy recycle one, but its really nice to have a case with the picture and stuff. =) The movie disc has clear bold writing so I can't confuse it for another movie. =) This was the cheapest and best looking one out of all the choices. "Scholarly" Use
As a teacher of today's "reluctant readers," this movie helps. It is not completely faithful to the book, but it helps reinforce plot understanding so we can move on to the bigger, more abstract issues. I like the ominous 50's animated version, but that's a big stretch for today's kids.

Orewells classic telling of a farm where the animals Rise up against the humans to take their farm back because they wish to be free. A scathing indictment of Big Government vieled thinly as a Childrens tale. a great movie and a great book
