Great for Enthusiasts, and Budget Gamers
I picked this board since I didn't want the legacy stuff. Don't know why companies till the past year now have been supplying us with this old stuff we don't even use. This board has zero parallel printer, serial port, serial gaming port, IDE and the rest of the stuff we don't need. A single PCI-Express x16 2.0 slot (full speed) with many small x2 slots for your network cards, SATA cards, USB cards, or wireless cards ect. Plenty of SATA and USB. Even has a few USB headers and fan headers. Nevertheless, the Realtek audio is fine for most games, since they don't require directx 10 sound. Later revisions of this board (3.1) support AM3+ which in itself supports eight core processors. I have this motherboard in a gaming rig and it does a good job. You don't have to have gamer edition of ... I picked this board since I didn't want the legacy stuff. You don't have to have gamer edition of motherboards to game on them. Just need a good setup. The board stacks up well against the competition. However, it's a tough call to pick AM3+ verse FM2+. AM3+ supports two more cores to FM2+ four core processors, Yet the FM2+ supports DDR3 2100 MHZ memory. Though some AM3+ boards can support DDR3 2100 MHZ (Overclocked). If I was in the market for another motherboard today I'd pick a AM3+ version of this motherboard or MSI A88x-G45 Gaming. This board reminds me of the DP35DP but newer and better. Same idea, one slot for gamer video card, rest for other stuff.

Great AM3 Socket Motherboard!
Very easy to setup. It was literally plug-n-play from my other motherboard even though it was another brand. Easy BIOS settings if you like to play!
