Great for TimeMachine backup - simply attach a HSF+ USB HDD and go

When it comes to Storing Apple TimeMachine backups on a NAS you need this. Works great and out of the box including access management. Will never understand why Apple stopped making these devices. Please note that I am not using this as a router. I use it as a network-attached device plugging in either a USB only printer (works great with USB label printers too) or a USB hard drive for NAS. It's so hard to find a router or another type of a device like it that supports HFS+ (with MBR) formatted drives.

What is isn't: "factory sealed" no cord,...

What is isn't: "factory sealed" no cord, no instructions, NADA, What it is: a working AirPort Extreme, unplugged my bad one, plugged this one in, set it up in my AirPort utility, updated the firmware and BAM we have a network again.

    • From Turtle to Rabbit

I upgraded my 2008 Linksys Router which could not take the firmware upgrades and had a limited WiFi range to this Airport Extreme as the Sixth generation was a bit out, well a lot, of my price range. I have seen an increase in speeds for my WiFi device. Before I got about 12mbs download (I have a 45mb download package) on WiFi and now I get 33-38 mbs with the router in my bedroom and the test done in my living room.

    • Crisis averted

Base station died, new one bought, shipped next day, arrived in 2 days, installed moments later, 30 min to create network, 30 min to link all BT devices. Situation normal. Crisis averted. Time to fire up the roomba.

    • great product

Apple AirPort A1354 base stations create a strong and stable WiFi network. The 802.11n protocol is not the latest, but still meets the needs of many people. The biggest weakness is that eventually the manufacturer will stop providing security updates, as would virtually any manufacturer. Which shall Apple discontinue first: security updates or compatibility for the AirPort Utility app?
