It really is as easy as the youtube video demos! The only thing stopping you is your own imagination. Easy to set up easy to take down. Even though the blade parts are dishwasher safe, I just rinse in warm water w/ minimal if any brushing to take off bits of food here and there. I just mount it back up after washing & drying because my whole family uses it! I store the rest of the parts in the handy box right under the cabinet where my mixer sits. I love it, I love it! Be aware that as with most KA stand mixer attachments, the main part of the spiralizer is cast aluminum so it should not be put in the dishwasher. The bleach in the detergent will turn it black. The blades are stainless steel/plastic so those will wash fine on the top rack only.

I was so excited to use my new Kitchenaid Spiralizer a but was deflated when it didn't live up to my expectations based on the hype and videoes. I'll admit that to date I have only tried the peeler for potatoes. Apparently unless the potato is of larger size, the peeler blade doesn't adjust to the smaller size. Maybe there is a way to make that adjustment but I was so upset I didn't want to do any research. I just ended up peeling by hand as usual.

Love this spiralizer item as was very easy to attach and also to disassemble to pop into the dishwasher. I was surprised how much fun I had using this attachment to make unique appetizers from apples, cucumbers, carrots and more. My husband stepped in and took over using my purchase and has been telling people how much he likes this attachment that also peels, cores & slices. I am so glad I purchased this KitchenAid item.

Good gadget, but rather pricy for something that hooks onto a motor, but it has the brand name fo Kitchen Aid so there you go. Would be nice if you could fit a full size zucchini in it and cut to the end. It is a fun gadget but shop around for pricing. I paid a decent price on ebay but probably could have found one for less if I waited, but my hand crank model broke and I figured I'd go with this one as an attachment to my mixer.

It was a great price and at least $20.00 less than other retail prices I have seen. We have used the Spiralizer attachment with our KitchenAid 6 quart Professonial series. It is easy to attach, use. Clean up is simple, although the main arm of the unit is not immersible. Construction quality is good, with most parts being made of metal. Other plastic parts appear to be of good quality and should last. Apples: Peal, slice and core well. The attachment works better if the apples are placed on the unit as the instruction picture shows. If it is reversed, some peel is missed. Potatoes: Cut off the ends, or it will be harder to center and line up the potato. We made curly fries and they come out just a little thicker than shoestring potatoes. If you fry 6 minutes, or longer you get curly fry potato chips, which is not a bad thing in my book. Cucumbers: Are next, but if it works like what we have seen so far, we will be happy. Read full review
