    Sigma 17-50 F2.8 lens hood.

    I lost the original shortly after purchase, it was always loose on the lens. After contacting Sigma and getting nowhere I tried the hood off my 10-20 Sigma, it fitted but had the same loose problem, I overcame this with a piece of electrical tape over the slides which tightened the fit. After chasing a replacement on line for a couple of years and only finding unsuitable screw on ones I spotted this on on E bay at a reasonable price and purchased it. When it arrived I was pleasantly surprised as when I twisted it on it had a fair resistance and locked home firmly over the bayonet fittings. This is listed as a genuine Sigma replacement and as such should have been replaced by Sigma when they overcame the original fault which was well documented..

    Lightweight and great value.

    Nicely crafted for not being a metal lens hood, but the plastic is thick enough to withstand everyday use. Very easy to place on lens and has the nice feature that when not in use you can mount it in reverse so you don't lose it and it takes up no space in camera bag.

    sigma lens hood

    the sigma lens hood works fine, but I consider them to be very expensive. I mostly use Canon lenses and I can get replacement lens hoods for very little money. not so for the sigma lenses.

    Sigma lens hood for 17-50 f2.8 lens

    The lens hood fit the lens perfectly. Some people say that the hood is loose on the lens and either rattles or falls off, but if you tighten it a little bit more you will hear a click when it snaps into place.
