Sony Computer Entertainment's infamous escaped apes get schooled in their PlayStation Portable debut. This collection of more than 40 mini-games is designed as the handheld's first party game, and up to four PSP gamers with a copy of the UMD can compete together wirelessly.<br><br>As fans know, the siren-helmeted simians have been entertaining gamers since they first escaped on the PlayStation in 1999, but why "Academy?" As the story goes, the series' recurring villain, Specter, is tired of having his plans for world domination continually fouled up by the chronic foolishness of his monkey minions, and so he has founded a university to train his apes to be more obedient (or at least less incompetent).<br><br>Players progress in the game's main competition through a tic-tac-toe styled interface, in which they must win the mini-game to claim the square. Single players can revisit any of the mini-games they've beaten, as well for helpful practice or high-score pride.

    I got chills down my spine opening this game.

    I almost expected it to be reshrink-wrapped and slightly used. This has remained sealed since 2006. It was very satisfying opening this game, about to load it and play it now. The shrink wrap even broke apart like it was 2006, not a finger print or scratch on anything under the plastic wrap! Thank you, it was well worth the extra money of buying new to get that feeling. Wow!

    Lovable Characters with a Blast from the Past!

    All around great game! Always been a fan of Ape Escape on the PS1 and when Ape Escape Academy came out on the PSP you go down memory lane seeing Specter and the Monkeys all over again! So if you like training monkeys and have fun at the same time then this is the right game for anybody.

    Now that’s a perfect monkey if I’ve ever seen one

    It’s a very silly and no collector’s item but I’m very happy with what I got! The game matched the description perfectly, not a single dent in the case, still factory sealed, no weird discoloration,and if I didn’t know the PSP was discontinued, you could convince me this really was brand new! I recommend if you want some silly monkey fun.
