    Russian Ark

    An interesting evening watching this. Without more knowledge of Russian history it can be quite hard to identify Peter the Great and Catherine the Great, but no matter. The cameraman had to carry a 35 kg steadicam for an hour and a half - two hours allowing for the three false starts - which was a titanic feat of strength.. Watch the accompanying "the making of" film as well.

    WELL, hoping to go to the Hermitage museum in St. Petersburg in May. As relations with Russia not great at the moment, got this DVD as back-up. INTERESTING. Weird film, but got a look around the Museum, so satisfied.
