    Simple and accurate

    Very easy to use and accurate. Works on all types of center fire rifles. No need to buy the straight style for bolt actions. Takes the guess work out of figuring out the overall length of reloads for best accuracy.

    Hornady C1550 OAL Curved Gauge

    It seems well made but haven't yet really had a chance to put it through it's paces much. I'm not sure yet how i like the flexible wire-bound cable. It's definitely solid but (so far) seems a little stiff moving. I think it should be a pretty smooth action in order to get that "right there" feel of the bullet engaging the lands. I'll keep working with it and see if it loosens up. I will be getting the straight gauge and see if it is smoother. I've read reviews about the "cheap plastic" construction but it would seem that would slide smoother. I bought the curved for my AR but I know the straight gauge will work for it. If the straight is smoother operating then I'll just use the curved for my lever action. Either way, I haven't been disappointed in the Hornady products I've purchased to ...

    Much easier and accurate

    Takes the guesswork out of determining OAL of your reloads. I was Going through this process backwards before and could never get consistent result that I could really trust. I'm using this tool with a homemade modified shell for wildcats, but I think in the future I'll just send a couple shells and a check to Hornady. Very happy with my purchase. Used so far on semi automatic rifles of various calibers.

    GREAT TOOL FOR MEASURING OVERALL LENGTH

    It's from Hornady what more can be said. It works as designed for a semi-auto or lever action. A very useful tool for guaranteeing a consistent cartridge length to fit your rifle's chamber for maximum accuracy. Very easy to use and very well made. You need one!

    Compartor tool

    It works great through the ejector port of a semi auto rifle. Needs the base and modified case for the specific caliber and a good set of calipers to measure the (coal) comparator over all length.
