  • Really good information on diet and health

    Marilu talks in great detail about what worked for her. She lines it out in ten steps. I like how she doesn't force all 10 steps and encourages baby steps to get to all 10. I noticed as soon as I cut way back on the amount of sugar I eat, my tummy flattens out! I already do not eat red meat but do not like soy so much, at least she offers alternatives. The chapter on bowel habits was interesting. Great information and a great place to start a lifestyle change. About the only thing I did not like was some of her phrases--it was like she was trying to be humorous but she wasn't. Either way, I am glad I read it.

    This book is a friendly attempt to convince people to try a vegetarian diet. I hope people pay attention--there are healthier protein choices than meat and dairy: beans, legumes, tofu, tempeh, seitan--all good and low in fat and calories. Even if you don't care about the treatment of animals, this lifestyle will keep you out of the hospital and off meds.
