      good starter, bad drive gear.

      The starter motor worked fine but the starter drive was too long and would not disengage from the flywheel ring gear. Rather than have the customer wait for a week for another starter with the same problem I installed the drive gear from the old starter.

      Mercury Starter

      The starter is a replacement for a 25 HP Mercury Marine Motor that is on a pontoon boat... it fits perfectly and works great.

      Mercury starter

      This starter was only a few dollars more than a set of replacement brushes. It was easy to install and works great. How could you ask for more than that?

      Works but needs fitting

      The starter is fine but the bendix bottomed out on the fly wheel. Looks like the .060" shim washers did the trick.

      would not buy it again

      the starter fit ok but the pinion assembly was taller than the original.and would not go back to its resting position.it also chewed at the flywheel. i had to undo it again and reuse the old pinion. not worth the headache
