Notes
Pianist and storyteller Dr. John pays tribute to hometown N'Awlinz with his tender, occasionally somber look at the place that continues to serve as both a home and a muse. A gospel chorus finds it's way into a stunning rendition of "When the Saints Go Marching In." To him, New Orleans is as vibrant as it is ghostly. This 18-track collection seamlessly ties the past and present musical styles and culture that are synonymous with the Big Easy.

  • Amazing disk

A collection of little known tracks. It sounds like an excellent sampler of several sessions. The artists with Dr. John sound like they are having a great time as the numbers bounce from style to style: the one with Randy Newman is a hoot. If you can find a copy, grab it. No Dr. John collection is complete without it.
