Pretty good for its time
Fistful of Boomstick is a pretty decent Evil Dead experience. Entertaining writing and acting, fun gameplay seamlessly mixing action and adventure style games, a memorable soundtrack, and unique areas and settings to explore inside the Evil Dead universe make this a must play for fans of Evil Dead. The boss fights are fairly disappointing and the graphics are simple at best, even for the time. Level design can also often be confusing and tough to navigate in its larger areas, but if you see it through it's an enjoyable experience full of great action and fun progression. The added arcade mode is also a plus. A very fun game for fans and initiates alike
As a long time Evil Dead fan and an even longer term Bruce Campbell fan (I saw The Adventures of Brisco County Junior long before Evil Dead), their was no question as to whether I was goint to enjoy this game. The fact that I can lop Deadites into several pieces while hitting the Y button for a witty one-liner voiced by Bruce Campbell; what else could they offer? In fact, much more. For fans of Resident Evil style survial horror, this game is right up your alley. The AI is intelligent, and when you can have upwards of three dozen Deadites chasing you on the screen, it can be a deadly game. You have to be careful and play smart. The camera, for the most part, is on your side, especially with over the shoulder firing available for when you are on the run. There are no real difficult ... My only sticking point with the game is the same I had with Resident Evil; you don't have unlimited saves. You have to find save tokens and use them. You get free saves every level, but this is really a game that you have to sit down and play; you can't just play for fifteen minutes here and there if you expect to be able to save when you really need to. All in all, an excellent game. It can be fun to play around with the weapon combinations, since you have different ones for his hand and his nub beyond the shotgun and the chainsaw. Though for my money, what else is possibly worth using more than a boomstick?

You get to be Ash! How cool is that?
Game play is like being Ash from the movie. Works on my Xbox 360. Simple graphics and gameplay compared to modern war games, but, completely fun.

The Xbox wasn't much different from the playstation game but I don't have my ps2 and people want to much for it. So I still have my Xbox. And 20 bucks isn't bad .
