It needs a new intake manifold but for the price it can’t be beat. I was able to temporarily fix the issue with a extra gasket. Aside from that the unit was in very good shape. Compression test was around 155psi. Which is practically perfect in my book. Very little wear on exterior. Shoulder harness was missing but instructions were included. 9600 Phenom Quadcore upgrade
I needed a cost effective upgrade for my aging PC. I built this machine around 4 years ago. It was based on AMD's AM2 Platform. I bought their fastest Chip avaiable at that time (AMD Athlon 6000 X2). This was an awesome chip. Did everything I needed it to do. (along with SLI nVidia graphics cards and 4gb of ram). Fast forward 4 years and that same chip isn't vary fast anymore. I have read about the AM2 boards supporting AM2+ Quad core chips with a simple BIOS flash. I decided to pull the trigger and buy the Phenom 9600. Price was right and install was easy.
