Departure from the original, still a great game
The second Dawn of War is a fantastic game in and of itself, and the expansion pack is a wonderful addition. I have always been a huge fan of the Warhammer 40K universe, and this game does the universe plenty of justice. As an RTS, it's a bit of a departure from standard RTS games, managaing up to 4 specialized squads of space marines in the campaign. Awesome game, but I'm biased because I love the warhammer universe. I would recommend this game to any fan of well made RTS games. It's made by Relic, the same people that made Company of Heroes, so it plays very similarly to that title. This has heroes in it that you can equip and is quite fun.

Great RTS game
I never played the first Dawn of War game but I have seen it being played. From what I seen, Dawn of War II is way better in both graphics and game play. Dawn of War II is different from other RTS because (to me) it takes a lot more strategy then the normal building rush. The multiplayer side of the game is very awesome and addictive, much like the table top game of Warhammer 40k but way cheaper to play haha. If your a fan of Warhammer 40k or a fan of RTS in general you won't be disappointed.I never played the first Dawn of War game but I have seen it being played. I love this game. Very fun, easy to get into, and the graphics for a game that is 6 years old are phenominal. This a great game.
