    Good for basic/low expectation is best

    This is a very outdated unit, that is GREAT for the advance videographer as a back-up unit in a clinch. The newer units have an enclosed battery cell (people who are knowledgeable will be familiar with this design flaw with the new sony hdr cx placement) This unit still used a clip on battery, so therefor can carry 12 hr of battery life. An advance videographer have trips for lighting, focus, etc.(this unit is very basic, and unless your filming your kid in the back yard) Video quality can be questionable. Unless you want to spend a kings ransoms on sim cards. You better be tech savy and able to transfer video to your computer or some other storage source. Its great for someone on a "budget" and just seeking to keep "memories" for themselves. Very basic for very basic needs. Forget the ...

    Marvelous

    I can pitch this one on the dashboard and record any length trip I take. I keep it in my jacket pocket when out and about just in case something newsworthy should happen. Great tool.
