Relative to the camera I purchased, all I can say with certainty is that it is functional. My operating system is Ubuntu 17.04. Because it is not common as Windows or Macintosh, Logitech refuses to adapt their software which is required to allow the camera's features to work to Ubuntu, the most common Linux distribution used outside of the corporate IT environment. And what is their rationale? Why, it would cost money to modify the software they've already spent how much money to develop? I mean, God forbid that the executives at Logitech would have to forgo a quarterly bonus or give up some executive perqs in order to for the corporation to do the morally correct thing! Or perhaps they are...IF they're morality is centered on Almighty Money!

The camera had no software, the Logitech site is not helpful. The camera does not do anything except transmit video with an application, it does not record. I'll find a use for this thing eventually, but it is not what I wanted. Additionally, while Logitech support did eventually contact me, the key word is "eventually", I'd already figured out that I was a victim.

The Logitech C-525 was quite easy to set up. The user instructions were quite clear which made for quick set up. The unit was up and running with the internet in about 15 minutes. Very easy to use. Would recommend the Logitech series of Web Cams to all users. Great picture quality!

Works GREAT ! Picture is very good on my PC. Value (cost vs what you get) was excellent and bought two as a refurbished units. This product was purchased to get a decent video camera/mic for remote PC audio/video interaction with people in different cities. (using Skype, gmail, etc). Had previously used a much cheaper and lower quality video/audio camera to see if the concept was workable for my use. That experience spurred me on to get the Logitech C525. Used manufacturer's drivers downloaded from Logitech website and set-up was very easy and extremely simple. A great feature of the C525 is the absence of needing a separate input to the computer microphone input...just the USB input is required for both video and audio.
Great webcam. I'm running Windows 11, and the camera is plug and play, with no Logitech software needed (per the Logitech site). The resolution is much, much better than my previous Logitech 210 webcam and the picture is in widescreen format. The camera mount also has some extra plastic components that allow it to sit more securely on my monitor.

This webcam is precisely what I needed ~ simple to use, clear sound and image, with a stable clamp that doesn't begin to swing wildly during a Zoom meeting ~ all at a reasonable price. I'm very pleased.

I was hoping that the Logitech camera would be easy to set up and use and it was. I purchased it to use with Skype and video with a relative currently in Scotland. Mine worked better than his. His is built into his laptop and does nt have the ability to zoom in or pan. Overall I feel it is a great product.

I got this webcam for around $40 including shipping to my country (Mauritius). I will say this is a great deal, because here it costs $55. The design is top-notch, can be adjustable to almost any angle and it can also be folded completely for easily carrying around when travelling. Build quality is great, it should be durable enough to easily ithstand a few years of usage. The software bundled along is nothing special, but it does provide fancy effects for those who like to have fun looking like aliens or dogs while video calling. The quality is nice, but I get an issue that when the webcam tries to autofocus, the receiver of my call often tells me that the video freezes (Skype as well as Windows Live Messenger). Other than that, great piece of hardware at an unbeatable price.
Hell yeah, I love this thing! The only issue I have is that I get to send out high quality video to my friends and family, but I'm still stuck with their crappy images. But hopefully that means they'll upgrade after seeing what mine can do. It's great in all levels of light, the auto focus is reliable. The mic is a little digitally, but it can pick up my voice from anywhere in the room and the people on the other end have no issues understanding me. When I was researching which webcam to get, I had a hard time determining if this web cam could rotate 360 degrees AND point up and down. It does in fact do both. Not always at the same time depending on your desired angle, but it will look up and down and side to side. The most left and right range will be when the cam is pointing straight or pointing down. Side to side range gets limited when looking up. All in all, great web cam. Definitely the best you can do for the money.Read full review
