About this product

Product Information

DESERT COMMANDER NES NINTENDO GAME FACTORY SEALED NEW. Never opened! Still sealed in original shrink wrap from Nintendo. It does have a spot of shrink wrap that is missing from the front of the shrink wrap as you can see in picture #2. Unfortunately I have dealt with a several number of NES collectors over the past few months that are completely crazy. While most have been a pleasure and have been sane and normal a few have been complete nutjobs.

  • A father to all modern turn-based wargames.

The Nintendo Entertainment System was a great system for experimentation for game genres that are still played today. Desert Commander holds the distinction of being one of the turn based tactics games implementing the top-down view, turn based action, that became a staple in the genre. Some of the best known wargaming series, such as Panzer General, have their roots in Desert Commander. The game itself has a clean presentation, easy to navigate commands, and an engaging AI. Recommended for any wargamer that wants to own a piece of history; as genre defining as the equally excellent NES Silent Service sub simulator. Give this one a try!
