Clear and balanced sound.
This MM cartridge is a great surprise! I honestly did not expect to be rewarded with such an amazing sound quality for the price this sells for. The sound is clean, clear, balanced and well extended at both ends. The treble sparkles and although it is not extremely refined, it's always pleasing to listen to. The bass is full and rich, at first very slightly loose, but with some hours of burn-in it became much tighter and full of impact. This is a joy to set up. Extremely easy to align due to the shape of the body and there is no need for nuts, as the body has threaded insert points for the bolts to simply secure it to the headshell/tonearm. Overall, although more expensive cartridges with elliptical styli might retrieve more detail from the record's grooves, I simply think that the ... This MM cartridge is a great surprise! Bang For Bucks
I was using a Audio Technica AT100e which is good and dearer than the Goldring I installed this Goldring E1 and the sound was nice and clear and a lot better than the A T I would recommend this to any one after a £100 Cartridge as they will not better this ,my system Project Turntable fully upgraded, Amp Arcam Alpha 8r with Tannoy Eclips 2 Speakers
