I have used the picture hanging tape you can buy elsewhere, as the strips supplied not very strong. Pole extends but we've stuck the rod in the middle as it could have opened as there is no stopper inside to stop the rod to stop it coming apart. All this said its solved a problem as we could not drill into the soft plaster so this has given the chance to hang a light curtain across the door without drilling. In black it looks ok too. Arrived fast
