This is an easy to build kit, especially for someone with my experience but the decals? The water-slide decal sheet I had didn't slide off the backing easily, decals were difficult to reposition. The instructions recommend applying many of the decals before assembly is complete. Some decals, like the blast guards for the maneuvering thrusters, the instructions say to lay down before adding the thrusters themselves. I took that to mean I should glue a small part to a decal, something that runs counter to my decades of model building experience. The cockpit glass decals are awesome, but not for the inexperienced builder. All that said this is a great kit from a TV show I enjoyed in my youth, I recommend it for builders of moderate experience. I built this one as a birthday gift for my woman (what can I say, she likes purple).Read full review

This new release of the re-tooled Space 1999 Hawk Mk.IX fighter spaceship is far superior to the old and inaccurate MPC model that's for sure! So don't be an idiot and waste your money on that older kit unless you just want one for the heck of it. I have one of the older kits and they really sucked compared to this new release on by Round 2. But at least my older kit was less then $20 back in the day and I laugh at what I see it going for now which is a bunch of hype in my opinion. So buyer beware!

A bit of flash on some components but nothing serious. It's all easily removed. Fit of the parts is o.k. I love it. My own Eagle Transporter!
