WHO-MONGOUS. Is there any doubt who the driving ,creative force is within The Who? Pete Townshend plays his acoustic with a force while using the wonderful voices of the supporting vocals accompanied by classical musicians. Listen to the dynamic violin solo at the end of baba o riley. Ever see a classical violinist interact with Pete Townshend? She is having the time of her life playing the Who classic. Pete Townshend loses nothing when he sings his own songs. In fact, I will humbly say his interpretations of the classic Who songs easily rivals Rogers'. The width and variety of music. The country western "giddy-up" break in one of his songs that burns into the hard and pounding body of the song. One has to set aside your preconceptions. At the beginning one wanders into wanting the electric rift with Daltry belting it out......and poof...in a song or two you realize how Pete has written these songs and "The Who" grand-sized and hardened many of them into the classics we remember. This concert is entertaining, fun and your are introduced to some originals your probably never heard before....Dustin SilversRead full review
Obviously Pete Townsend's genius has escaped us mere mortals. I've been a Who/Townsend fan since Tommy and lived Who's Next. Which is what they retrieved from Pete's Life house project. I was excited when I found he got around to trying to finish this project. I am so disappointed. But that's art. So don't waste your money on any Life house CD or DVD or risk being severely disappointed
