At nearly a thousand pages this book covers everything except maybe flat screen tv's. Everything else is here, it starts off with the basics and then goes on to explain repair techniques for crt tv's, disc players, stereos, radios etc. It has a chapter on how to use test equipment. It's an easy book to follow even if you're a beginner and it's a handy book even for professionals.

Electronics Repair is a very rewarding career. And a career not designed for "quitters". Every tech remembers certain times when a chassis on the bench has his or her mind running in circles - defying their every electronic thought or procedure. All their training and they sit there thinking - "am I stupid or what"? Enter Electronic Troubleshooting and Repair Handbook, a 4 or 5 pound GEM of a book giving hundreds upon hundreds of "tips" that help a Tech re- group his or her thoughts, back off and take a fresh approach to a problem. And sometimes it's a word, a sentence that has them pacing and thinking about a little thing - at times BASIC - that years of stuffing Electronics into their brain, has let them overlook. And a "boat-anchor" like this is such a book! Fresh ideas, fresh thinking, sometimes covering subjects and equipment they've had little or no training at. A FANTASTIC book every TECH should have. You are never so smart you should not keep an open mind to an fresh approach. JackRead full review
I found that this is really a great starter book for those who wish to get into the trade, and even become a Certified Electronics Technician , as a Ham Radio Operator( Extra Class ), ISCET member & IEEE member I reccomend this book who wish to get first hand knowledge of electronics. great for ALL Levels weather a refresher or adding certifications for career advancement. Why did I buy it ? Simple to add to my knowledge Its like learning the Morse Code you keep on studying til you learn it, and then work on the speed.

Great large volume book for the money. excellent condition hardbound book but I had hoped for a more rounded "Electronics Repair Manual" instead of radio, television and VCRs. Don't forget (like I did) this book was published in 1995.
