Great Alternative to Expensive Dremel Models
The Wen rotary appears to be a great alternative to expensive Dremel models. The motor ran smoothly without building up excessive heat, collets gripped well, and tools appeared to be identical quality and manufacture as those that come with a Dremel tool. The speed control was also very smooth (mechanically and electrically), with adequate power even at lower rpm's. An added bonus is that the Wen fits Dremel Router Base (# 230). It's not a Dremel.
Cost effective, yes. But the device has diminished motor speed control and runs irregularly. It also seems to 'get tired' and needs to rest every so often. But it filled the gap, affordably at a time of low discretionary spending, till I could afford a Dremel (or other off-brand made by Dremel). The 100 piece accessories is misleading because every little sanding disc (pretty useless) is counted, and the grit on the drums wears off quickly. Great value decent tool
You can't beat the price. Good quality and comes with everything to get started. I have used this to cut and smooth several knife blanks so far with very little issue. Wen is sure winning us over,
Hello folks,you know we have as of late been purchasing a lot and I mean a lot of the WEN line of tools,no folks they are not like Blue point or Mac,SK,but really just a notch bellow craftsman and about the exact same quality as Lowe's Cobalt we feel,we were concerned at first about setting up our home shop with China's tools,we have had bad luck in the past and people don't forget cheap tools,but these are NOT CHEAP IN QUALITY,i don't recommend them for the professional journey man making a living and feeding his family with his tools everyday,but really I promise you every WEN tool we have purchased in the last 10 months has completely surprised me,i have owned plus used every brand known to man,these are a excellent choice for the money in my opinion,there 10" (Wen 4210) drill press is a sweet little jewel,there 8" bench grinder,real sweet and smooth with plenty of power,there 1/2x18" hand held belt sander is so cool to use,the (Wen 2310) rotary tool is perfect and under a $20 dollar bill,i could share with you folks about many more Wen tools we have just purchased and yes folks,we are very happy,if you need to replace your old worn out tools in your man cave or garages,shop we are telling you straight up these Wen tools are GREAT FOR THE COST,i can't say about long term use yet as there all new,and we are shipping for more this week,one thing that might help you out like me,is find a USA SELLER for the Wen line of tools and shipping is so much faster,i mean you get your items in a few days instead of a month and a half,also the shipping companies show our packages no love at all coming from China they get kind of beat up,so we have found a great supplier here in America and your tools show up much faster,we are very pleased with every Wen purchase so far,like 28 new tools from them and counting,plus we have saved several hundred dollar bills or more setting up our new shop with the Wen line of tools,one last thing please,they are making just about every tool a guy needs,happy shopping,Mr.Martyw.Cassel or Mrmoedidley,California Sierra Mountain Range.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Dremel works bit accessories don’t fit
This is an excellent Dremel tool but sadly many of the included accessories don’t for. For example, the small drill bit is too small for the collar. "'Very good grinder but poor quality implements"
This is a very good grinder in my opinion however I am very disappointed in the quality of the grinder implements. I used several of the cutting wheels that are used to do cut out work and they are so very fragile. I did a fabrication of a racer 250 upper half using Carbon Fiber and I ended up using two wheels to do the cut out. I tried using only one wheel and it broke every time exerting very little effort. WEN rotary hand tool is great value.
I'm very satisfied with this WEN 'dremel' tool; for around US$25 (with some accessories), it's a great bargain. The only flaw I notice is that the motor speed is uneven at the lower speeds (between '5' and 'max' the speed is steady); it's not a big issue but I knock off one star for it.
